Summary: A story about father-son relationships and the many ways of being a man. Nothing much happens in the coal town, except for fights at the pub. Then one night a young girl is found dead by the river, and every man comes under suspicion: Eddie and his brother Larry, their embittered dad, the secretive school teacher, even the powerful mayor. People can't look each other in the eye; anyone could be a murderer. The policeman knows he must move fast, before the miners react, but it's Eddie's father who takes the law into his own hands. What Eddie sees at the railway bridge means there's no going back.
