Beyond the edges of a solitary farm where a family lives in peace, the world has fallen into darkness. Fallon Smith has two loving parents, but her true father died long ago, in the massacre at New Hope. The distant city where her mother once dabbled casually in the Craft has been in ruins for years, reclaimed by nature, desolate since the Doom descended and billions grew sick and died.
