Summary: Corey White had an unimaginably harrowing childhood. Born to a heroin-addicted mother and a violent criminal father, White was in and out of abusive foster homes until a scholarship to a prestigious Brisbane boarding school lifted him out of the cycle when he was fifteen. Boarding school, and then university, awakened a love of learning and reading for him, but also brought a crashing spell of depression, and later a meth addiction. His salvation came in the form of stand-up comedy, which allowed him the freedom to stretch his intellectual muscles and to explore the wreckage of his childhood.
